The radio, television and pretty much every other advertisement agency seems to be running ads saying, “after 911 call 411”. These advertisements have been flooding up the market and sending clients away from smaller personal injury law firms. Some of these lawyer referral service hotlines that have been flooding the Miami, Broward, Tampa and Orlando markets include: 1-800-411-PAIN, 800-828-HURT and 1-800-NEED-HELP. All of these hotlines claim that if you have been injured from a car accident or slip and fall to call their office so they can find you a lawyer and help you recover medical benefits and loss wages.
So just exactly who are these people mass advertising on billboards, television and radio for car accidents and slip and falls? Most of these hotlines are made up of different medical facilities and lawyers who have corporate representatives distribute the cases to the various doctors and lawyers. If you have an accident make sure you call an attorney who specializes in personal injury. It is important that you know your rights as to what you may recover after suffering a personal injury accident. More importantly, you want to know who you are calling. Many of these large hotlines that do a lot of advertising are not lawyers. They will take your phone call and refer you out to one of their attorneys.
Remember that as a client you have the right to know the qualifications and experience of your attorney. Do not have an attorney assigned to your case because you called one of these large hotlines. Instead, it is important to do your research and find an attorney that you feel comfortable with having them represent you in court. You want to make sure you hire an attorney with trial experience that is willing to take your case to trial if necessary. Ask family members, friends or look online to see an attorney’s website.
