A father and his fourteen-month-old baby were struck by a driver in Palm Beach County Thursday. Both the baby and his father were transported to Delray Medical Center following the crash. The accident occurred as the father was pushing his son in a stroller across the street in a crosswalk on Lake Worth Road near Nassau Road.
According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera, the driver of a white van was attempting to turn left from Nassau Road onto Lake Worth Road and he did not see the father pushing the baby in the stroller. Both the father and baby sustained minor injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital under trauma alerts. The intersection where the accident occurred is west of Jog Road and just east of Florida’s Turnpike. The incident caused westbound lane closures on Lake Worth Road for a short time.
