On Monday morning, a Palm Tran bus, driving along its regular route, was rear-ended when it stopped to pick a passenger around 6:45 a.m. The bus, which was heading east on Southern Boulevard, near D Road was hit from behind by a pickup truck. This is the second Palm Tran bus accident this month.
The accident sent the pickup truck driver, the bus driver and eleven bus passengers to local hospitals. Local authorities revealed that none of the injuries were serious, but the passenger and drivers were sent to the hospitals as a precautionary measure. Traffic in that area was backed up for over an hour as investigators and rescue workers aided the victims.
