Three people were transported to local hospitals after a two-vehicle crash occurred in Boynton Beach during this morning’s commute. The crash forced authorities to close down part of Woolbright Road in the westbound direction and caused serious delays for those travelling in the area. It was just after 6 a.m. when a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Hyundai Elantra crashed. The accident occurred at the intersection of the Interstate 95 northbound exit ramp and Woolbright Road.
According to investigators, it appears that the Jeep was exiting the highway and the Elantra was travelling on Woolbright Road. The driver of the Elantra had to be extricated from the vehicle. Authorities reported that the driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to Delray Medical Center for care. Boynton Beach Police Lt. Paul Deale stated that the two individuals inside the Jeep were conscious at the scene, but were taken to Bethesda Hospital for minor injuries. A couple hours after the accident occurred, all lanes of traffic were reopened for travel.
